WTF, just received an email about my 2012 benefits. Self Payment Gap goes from 9k to 17k and there is a 9% increase. Clearly discovery isn't that lean mean fighting machine that it used to be.
 
My family is changing plan now, discovery hasn't paid anything for the last few surgeries that my parents had to undergo although it was all in hospital. They always come up with an explanation.

Interestingly enough, they never come up with an explanation NOT to increase the premiums !!! I hate it when insurance companies make it their sole business to try NOT to pay claims. However, when their smooth salespersons want to sell, they paint such rose coloured pictures. Sharks!

Maybe seek legal advice?
 
9k to 17k? Hows that possible...Disc guy came to our offices...none of the plans SPG's went up near that much! You sure you got it correct? What plan you on?
 
Also got an email telling me that I will be paying more because I am in their *higher income* category.
The only reason why I joined them was because they were the cheapest network option which DIDN'T discriminate based on income. Now they are joining the rest of the vultures *sigh*.

PLUS they reduced their hospital lists, which means if you live in the eastrand, or happen to be injured while you are at the ORT airport, the nearest hospital is in Sandton :D
