Your pocket NEVER lies, they work you through the plans over the years, and after dumping hundreds of thousands of rands into it, you sadly cannot afford it when you need it the most when old, this is a sad situation developing after 1992. "Over Time"...It seriously needs to be looked into.

Already went up 8% in October and now another 8% 6 months later. What nonsense.

I see there's a new Essential Dynamic Smart for R 1565 now, even cheaper.
The business is like an escalator. Every few years they introduce a new plan at the bottom. If you don't downgrade periodically you find yourself on the top tier within a decade or so.
OP could save 35%+ by downgrading. Looks like with one adult & two child dependents the cheapest plans come to around R 5-6k/mo.
