Discovery Vitality changes points rewards system

I am so glad I didn't go with Discovery for their Life Cover, as it only 3X more than everyone else, but pays more Vitality on platinum. Tommorow they chop and change the Vitality so my family next to nothing if I die... No thinks I rather spend the X3 on more cover.

I have no idea what you are trying to say. Please focus more on your sentence construction and grammar.

Well i cant say that this comes at a shock. When you create a scheme that is flawed ( too easy ) then over correct to the point where claims skyrocket ( In the sense of a lazy person who liked the idea of an Apple watch, who now has to run for 30mins at 80% - sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen ). To now this with multiple zones and multiple options.

Lucky I am an android fan with no need for another smart watch.

There is nothing Discovery was actually losing. People who wanted to go for Gold/Diamond did this before by swiping through the gym in any case. Those same people where mostly the ones who complained as they did not get as many points after the April adjustment. In the end it means really nothing, as even with regular exercise you will hit the annual threshold. An active person will have reached max fitness points by May. An average active person by September.

The free drinks you earned where pointless (at least for us - no-one ever redeemed a single one). I get that very active people are upset when they did a 2 hour HIT workout and then got less points than an obese person walking a 5km Parkrun for 1 1/2 hours.

As long as I personally get more money/benefits back than what the vitality membership costs, I am fine with this. So far this works with grocery purchases and travel. I joined Discovery for the medical cover and not having all the hassles people have with other medical aids. Whenever I required medical assistance, Discovery covered this well enough. My biggest issue is that medical cover is insanely expensive, but is not something I would want to go cheap with either.

My issue is that Vitality should be either free, or it should have an effect on your premiums.

I get my vit and my life cover paid back most months , if i include the smoothies and my apple watch payment they have nade since dec its way more and disc is actually paying my premium and paying me to gym and giving me free smoothies and a watch.

Even with a shattered elbow, through the opp and the recovery i made my goals weekly.

My only hassle is that there is sometimes sync issues and i have to manually send screenshots of my workouts.

It can't impact medical aid but does impact life cover and investment which is why changes to vitality impact a lot of things for me. I rofl when my advisor told me to to use vitality for savings because vitality is a rigged system..

So I'd rather not have e.g. Investment fees have a vitality impact when the rules for vitality is not regulated at all where investment fees have some red tape. The more you dig into the discovery system you will see the more you actually are paying for all those freebies and this year I'm Pretty sure was the 1st baring the roll over change which had the biggest impact on annual goal reach.. Sadly not many people realize the impact for future other than this year.. And yes I'm not worried about this year.. I'm concerned about next with the year after being the year people leave in droves.
