One of the local bands that plays at various day jols & rallies is called Black Bone Nation.

They're an old fashioned hard rock style bad. Great music, great stage vibe.

They post about their upcoming tour with the line "Lock up your wives, lock up your daughters, we're coming to a town near you"

Most people have heard the phrase or similar - normally a tongue in cheek reference to a dapper/handsome fellow coming to town who may seduce the ladies.

It's also a reference from songs by Slade, AC/DC & Iron Maiden. Anyone with any knowledge of hard rock would know this.

Apparently not the folks at Mix FM! Some snowflake got their knickers in a knot & posted the following:

Mix FM were taken to task in the comment, on both their page & BBN's, and deleted it this morning, without any apology or statement.

Poor show IMHO.

Just a trivial misunderstanding. 'Dismal Fail' is a bit over the top.

WTF they apologizing for?

Not their fault the snowflake is not familiar with the saying :o

It can even be interpreted, tongue in cheek off course, that said females may throw themselves at the band members. Are these people at MixFM daft?

lol , would like to know which wet behind the ears snowflake posted that comment :D

^^^ Indeed. I think it's a case of a "social media manager" who is under the age of 30 & has scant knowledge of music.

The fail is actually funny - in a sad sort of way.

The failure to apologise is what makes it a dismal fail IMHO.

/sees OP triggered by Mix FM not apologizing or making a statement. Wonders who the real snowflake is.

It's way too easy to access the internet these days. Snowflakes who would not have been on the internet normally have access to it now. And the world cried a little...

LOL you are on a roll today. First the Xhosa film intern thread and now there.

I think he misses being a black guy in Africa and being special to now being back in the States and just being, well in the states :crylaugh:

I can be wrong though, but I recall crackersa being black :o

cracker = reference to white slave owner cracking the whip... well that's one explanation wrt origin, generally refers to rednecks but can refer to all whites, can be a pejorative

So he's proud of being a Slave owner/White/Redneck? Or using it in jest as a black person

Either way...
