Display and ethernet adaptors, USB or Thunderbolt?

Hi all
This for a early 2015 MBP retina, as far as I have it this machine has 2x USB3, 2x Thunderbolt2 and a HDMI port.

Firstly I need a Ethernet adaptor, so USB to Ethernet or Thunderbolt to Ethernet and why?

Then I need a VGA adaptor, so HDMI to VGA, Thunderbolt to VGA or USB to VGA and why?

Pricing seams more or less the same, no matter which config you choose it's hellish expensive, so price isn't really a factor here, I know it will cost no matter which I go for.

AFAIK the Thunderbolt port is compatible with a MiniDisplay port connector - so that opens up options as well. One of the obvious advantages of going with TB/MDP, is that you leave your USB ports available for, well, USB sticks and the like.

Been using generic MDP >> DVI/VGA adaptors for years without issue, and they are usually far cheaper than the Apple products. Pretty sure they will work just fine for Ethernet.

Regarding the Display - that depends entirely on what you intend driving as your display. In the latter instance, TB *might* be a better bet - but pretty sure someone far more knowledgeable will wade in with suggestions, depending on outputs etc.
