Display Card not working

Hey ppl,

This weekend I got a 8600GT 512mb display card, but upon plugging it into my pc's PCI-E slot and wanted to boot up my pc it was not starting up. All the lights came on, but no fans was spinning of the CPU and display card. I have a 350W power supply. Is that the possible problem that there is not enough power? Some advice would be greatly appreciated.

A 350 PSU should be enough, the minimum for that card is a 350 but you never know. Try get hold of a bigger PSU if you can and test.

Is the 8600 new of 2nd hand?

I had the same issue but then put a 7600 in and it worked like a charm

The card is 2nd hand. I borrowed it from a mate. 30day trail period before I buy it I will be testing a 7600 tomorrow on my pc. Was just looking forward to some gain in FPS as I currently have a 6600GT.
