Hi peeps,

I have a 8800 GTX and I want to upgrade... Is the 3870X2 a good card??

And is it worth upgrading to a 4850? Or should I eat bread and try to get my hands on a 4870?

It is not worth upgrading to a 4850, they would be very similar in performance, eat bread.

Why the hell do you want to upgrade a 8800GTX? That is still a sweet card and should certainly run any of the current games on full......

The 4850 and 8800gtx perform the same, actually the 4850 outperforms it slightly, which is why we have the 9800gtx+.

Either get the 4870 or keep your card and wait for the DX11 cards.

The 8800gtx should be fine for today's games. Is maybe your cpu holding it back?

Can a SLI setup with another 8800GTX not be considered for a lot less?

My final answer is...eat bread and get the 4870X2...

Save your money. All the new stuff is not that much faster. if you have anthing like a 8800GT, there is no reason to upgrade. Wait 6-12 months still.
