Hi guys,

I have an HD 8540p, with an Nvidia NVS 5100M graphics card.

My screen went faulty, seems like some kind of flex connectivity problem as at times it would flicker and blur, other times was right.

Anyway, my IS team took the laptop away and replaced the complete front flap.

Prior to this i was able to get max resolution at 1600 x 900, now after the repair i can get max 1366 x 768.

Graphics card was not replaced, latest drivers were already running prior to fix and i reinstalled now, no matter what i do i cannot incerase resolution past 1366 x 768.

Suggestions ?

Thank you

Hey Hey

It sounds like they fitted a lower resolution screen. The Hp 8540p has a number of screen options, and one of them is 1366x768. Your model number underneath the laptop will tell you exactly what the screen res should be... maybe have them refit the required one based on the model number ?

EDIT: Maybe download "Speccy" and install it, this will give you the current screen native and max supported resolution info...
