I live in the Bellville area of Cape Town.
Yesterday Stage two loadshedding was brought upon us, 20:00 to 22:30 this according to City of Cape Town website and loadshedding information.
Area one, which is most of Bellville was scheduled for loadshedding at the above time.
I decided to take a drive to pass the time. However, as I got to the neighborhood next to mine, I was surprised to find all there lights are on, despite falling in the same area, area one.

I was even more surprised today when a colleague told me he also did not receive load shedding, once again, falling in the same area.
This can not be right. I will make sure to take photo's next time with time stamps so that all that are affected by load shedding can see that there is clearly a problem and some neighborhoods are not affected by load shedding despite falling in the same area.
 
Happens to us often in Gordons bay, they skip our loadshedding.I aint complaining :)
 
In the Durban Metro there are a few suburbs where the name is the same but they fall into different zones.

Happens all over the place....

Loadshedding isn't a definate even when its announced. They have a target to meet, and if it takes all the suburbs they will do so, if it only takes half, then it will be half.

When I was at the Pavilion,one half of the shopping centre had loadshedding and the other didn't.
 
I know of an area near me in Cape Town which never has its power cut, due to the proximity of a hospital.

Same in BFN - they start turning off parts of our suburb and when the meter hits the target they simply stop. My parents skipped loadshedding the last 8 or so times, they live in the same suburb, 2 roads down from me.

The ANC and Eskom don't give a single **** about you. They are only here to take your money and give you **** in return.

This is happening all over the country.
All I can think is some of the dudes who are supposed to be throwing switches are not doing their jobs.
 
If a Minister or one of Nummawan's wives lives in the area, there will be no loadshedding there. This is true of my suburb.
 
This is normal. Some houses are on the border of two areas, so sometimes you get shed with some areas, other times you don't and other times you will get shed both times. I have a friend in Cape Town who experiences this all the time. Sorry, folks. No conspiracies here...
 
Same part of the grid as a hospital. Doesn't matter, don't want people to die just because I'm being "spiteful" and demanding load shedding in other areas than my own.
 
Yeah. Well. Those people who don't get load shedded are lucky, so enjoy. I most surely would've been happy.
Guess we will just have to continue paying for the mistakes made by our elected government. Especially now since the new budget came out.
