DIY Advice - TV Wall Mounting

Plug as you call it (other: knock in nails, hammer in) etc, can work well in other type of applications.

But yes expansion anchors or rawbolts in this instances is the correct choice.

At OP, also look at cash crusaders/convertors ( the blue branded pawn shop). They tend to have brackets for quite a good price. As stated above, my bracket has been installed since 2016.

Use a spirit level to draw a straight line with a pencil. Measure and mark two points, the widths should be as per instructions. Use a punch on the pencil mark, this will give the drill bit a place to bite and prevent the bit from moving. You want to have an level tv, you have to drill accurately.

Measure down/or upwards and draw the next line depending if you did the bottom or top line first. And repeat.

Absolutely, I never said that they were bad, they are just not great at applications where there will be force trying to pull them out of the wall such as this one. I use them plenty.
