DIY HID XENON conversion Kits

Yeah they are brilliant, will never go back to halogen. they all pretty much the same mine are still going strong after 2 years.. got mine from autostyle

what is HID halogen kit?

Here is one for R699. Go check it out. The price seems good to me, I am just not in the mood for all the fiddling. In some cars you can change the bulbs with ease, but in my alfa I lost a lot of skin just to replace the standard bulbs

Reckon you get a conversion kit for a Toyota Corolla?

This do sound good - will be looking at such a kit seriously. R600 is a lot of money, but if it helps you with night driving, then it is worth the money.

hey don't cause temporary blindness to oncoming drivers.

Total rubbish. All these idiots who drive with Xenon lamps always blind me. Either that or their lamp positions are not calibrated properly for vehicle load.

I don't know how people can say that the standard halogen and long lights are not enough. How fast do you drive? Do you wash your windscreens?

If you stick to the speed limits, keep your screen in good condition and clean, you should not have a problem. If you still do, check your vision at an optometrist. Don't make your problem other peoples' problem.

Reckon one day I will mount an array of high power halogen lamps - maybe 5kW worth or more on a bakkie, drive around and when a Xenon using chump passes me - I'll flash him from behind for effect.

I always thought there was a lot more to Xenon than simply a globe?

Every car that lists them as an option, is R5,000+

They are supposed to have proper lenses and stuff and those kits are usually like 5k.

Pretty sure those DIY kits are in no comparison to the ones that are factory fittet. I might be wrong though. If it really does what it says, then R600 is not much in my eyes.

LOL - yep the Alfa's are bloody irritating when it comes to changing a simple bulb. I got Osrams for my 147's parks and they look great in white, and so much better and the distance is great...I'm looking into getting some for the headlights as well...

Changing anything on an Alfa is bloody irritating. I'm sure eyetyes must be born with very small hands and long, skinny, flexible fingers ;)
