I agree, first get everything to work before playing trying to add fancy things

Out of interest sake, without applying that patch, I can rsync over ssh @ 98mbit/sec easily (that is maxing out 100mbit network card).

yeah you need get openssh source ftp://ftp.openbsd.org/pub/OpenBSD/OpenSSH/portable/
then apply the patch, and ./configure,make,make install. but as someone said this probably isnt needed

this helps with parsing other things through the vps . steam for example preforms better....

...i'm however looking at doing something like proxifier/sockscap on it or going the putty way of setting up another tunnel on the vps which i in turn can connect to and it connects initially to the ssh server and then to another host.

yeah i was looking at getting a local machine as well on some backbone, but that **** just costs too much
