I have never picked up a needle and thread in my life :D never been to the army you see and usually always look after my stuff, so seldom does things need repairing.

But today I ripped my shirt by turning around too fast near a door handle :(

So the button flew off and tore a bit of fabric around the button hole as well.

Do I:

A) Learn to do some patch work myself - some life skills there I think :p

or

B) Send it in somewhere and pay for it (It is a rather nice work shirt)

Reason I ask this stupid question is for those who know...how easy is it to learn to repair the fabric around the button hole? :o::) it looks like the stitching around the button hole is reinforced and a bit fancy mind you so I may not get it right :p

PS is it manly to stitch your own clothes? :erm: haha

Just sew the damn thing already demmit!!! Or I'll do it for you for the mere fee of R49.99 excluding postage & packaging ;)

OK how long would it take me to learn such a thing? I don't wanna make it worse lol.

I never did boy scouts I did nippers :) don't remember doing any sewing on the beach while I was there :)

Nah I think I better send it in. The shirt has thin vertical stripes of a different colour, that might make things complicated :/

send it to a professional. it's always nice to have something that you really like looking as it was before. pay the person already man.

tbh I think its going to look rubbish because shirts are tricky & anything wrong stands out.

If the shirt is ruined anyway then why not give it a try.

Sending it to a pro is probably going to cost more than a new shirt, but it depends on the shirt.

No. It is however condoned if you can handle a sledgehammer and down a beer in one go.

Ask or pay one of the domestics in your street/complex to do it. Voila!

Bluddy door handle  that's all I can say ! if only my phone would stop ringing I would not have been in a rush lol

Thanks all :)

Well, not too difficult to repair, as the piece of torn shirt would be hidden behind the other side when buttoned up.
Just make sure you get the correct colour thread, as that would be a clean give-away :)
