DIY solar lighting

Hey all,

so I know there are many threads similar already but are either old or relate to larger systems etc.

So I bought a small outdoor solar security light on the weekend, it actually seems to work great, But i need like 3 for my front area, maybe one for the side, and perhaps will want to add so that I can have one or two rooms solar inside with lighting.

So, where does one start, what would you need, where could you get it and how much does it cost?

Any guidance is appreciated.

Try 12v LED downlights with battery and a solar panel mounted on the roof. I have added an IR alarm sensor and timer to make an occupancy detector so that it saves battery power by only switching on when someone is in the room.


I have a prototype with LED striplights outside the kitchen door.
