I've typically been shooting evening matches (rugby) so Saturdays CLT20 afternoon match posed a bit of a problem wrt on site editing and the sun. Here's my working prototype sunshield made out of white corrugated plastic and open-faceed corrugated cardboard on the inside to prevent glare.

I'll be substituting velcro straps for the red electrical tape :D

A moment of silence for the two rather tatty mirror socks that sacrificed their elastic to make this possible. :o

Can you take a pic of MKII ?

Only major differences are the hinge cuts I made so it would fold flat and the rounded corners, and a bit of velcro.

bwana,

You can get a matte film that you can apply to the glass of your Macbook with pretty good results. http://www.powersupportusa.com/accessories/macbook-pro-15/anti-glare-film.html

Another option would be to remove the glass and replace it with matte glass but I don't know how well that would work or where you would be able to buy the precut matte glass.

A third option would be to replace the LCD and remove the glass, http://www.macworld.com/article/138574/2009/02/techrestorembp.html

Thanks. I might try that film but the other two options would probably void my warranty.

I'd still need the sun shield though even without glare.
