Quentin Tarantino released his version beginning this year. Now it is announced that Joe D'Augustine will direct the new movie in line with the originals, starring Franco Nero, which will also bring an end to the original movie series.

Before Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, there was just Django, the 1966 Western classic directed by Sergio Corbucci and starring Franco Nero as the titular character. According to THR, the film inspired more than two dozen spinoffs, and now Nero is working on a new, final film for his gun-slinging character.
The new installment, tentatively titled Django Lives, would be set in 1915 and see Django hired as a movie consultant for Wild West-themed films. Work on the project, which will be filmed in the U.S., is in its beginning stages.
Though the Django film produced many follow-ups, Nero has appeared in only three of them, including his cameo spot in Tarantino’s Django Unchained opposite Jamie Foxx’s version of Django.
