Good news for motorists who need a new licence in South Africa
The Department of Transport has revealed that the driving licence card production backlog resulting from last year's breakdown has been cleared.
South Africa's only driving licence card printer broke down in February 2025 and was offline until 8 May 2025 for repairs. This resulted in a production backlog that peaked at nearly 750,000 cards.
