Hey i have this router.

Was working, now just seems that the DSL light just stays on, it doesnt flash and then synch. And now i cant connect to the router or connect it to the internet or anything ?

is there anyway to maybe still get into the settings or anything and see whats up ?

Does it do the same if you say switch it off for 5 minutes?

Pressing the reset button for 30 secs with the power on should reset it to factory defaults.

unplugged it for like an hour... still the same !

i pressed the reset in for like ever.. doesnt seem to do anything

Any consolation to the thread poster, my 2640U seems dead too. I cannot log on to the Router, no other lights come on other than the power light and the one LAN light flashes where I plugged in the RJ45 plug.

Looking for a new Router as my old Zyxel does not support ADSL2

Out of interest, there is a console interface at the back of the Router. I suspect that if this piece of hardware could be fixed then it would be through this?

D-Link will tell you that this model is
still on sale and has a swap for new
lifetime guarantee.

I had no luck, but it's worth a try if
you have the receipt.

Interesting, never knew that. Cannot remember where I bought it now, must think back a bit.

Edit. Mine is actually 2640U, but I suspect they are all the same.

The Dlink 2670U looks nice.
2 USB ports for printer and harddrive.

Although my gut says I should change and buy a Netgear or something else.

@ BTTB your gut is correct !

Leave that Dlink alone, I have a DSL-2640U and its a piece of **** ! had it in for a "swap out" and its still the same problem as before in that it drops the connection after an hour or two.

It shows that its connected but you phisically have to switch it on and off to get it working again.

The Netgear I have just goes and goes.......

You saying they gave the same
broken router back!!??

The warranty says they must send
a new sealed one in return.
