Hi

My modem stopped connecting to the internet a few days ago.
The connection degraded so much that I could not even browse.
The line syncs and there is nothing wrong with the phone line.
I tried resetting it and then added the settings but now the PPP light doesnt flash at all :(

I contacted my ISP and on there side it was working.

I need help urgently

Into which one is the ADSL line plugged in? What happens when you take the wireless ap out of the equation? Also, which of the 2 is handling the dhcp?

The Dlink 2500U handles both

I have tried it without the ap connected and it does the same thing so I dont think its that.

Do you think it could be the dlink?

I have lost a few of those routers to similar problems. Just check to see if the dsl line is syncing on the router. If its not and telkom cant see the router on your end(they will test this when you call them) then its a line fault. If not then its a router fault. I have tried flashing them new firmware, bad idea cos those rouers are all russian imports if im not mistaken.

sent the same router in for repairs 2 weeks ago.

I could no longer access the web panel, pppoe wasn't working and wireless wasn't broadcasting.

What colour is the status light on the router? A flashing red light indicates a router fault.

When I put the power off then on the light is red then it turns green for a second and then doesnt light up or flash at all.

The other lights are all green btw.

sounds like a hardware fault...

D-Link has an excellent local support number, 08600 DLINK (35465) ; give them a shout to see if they can help. I think all products also carry a 3 year warranty, at least mine did, so might be worth sending it in for repairs.

Thanks for the help guys

But it was DSLAM issue the whole time :(

I called my ISP again and they logged a fault with telkom and the next day it was fixed :)
