Hi all,

I just have everything up and running except that my D-link modem behaves very weird after few hours of hard work. And the problem is definitely the modem because after restart it works at full speed for another couple of hours.

I just wonder if anyone here does use this modem under Linux (Mandrake 10.0, 2.6 kernel in my case) and if so what is your ADSL configuration (both on the modem and on the box).

I just spoke to D-link support and they said that I can't use PPPoE on that modem, and I must use it in some Bridge mode and dial-up from the box. Anyone done this?

Any help please!

Yep! I use it in Bridged mode .... can't really say I have came accross your prblem. So.... set in Bridged mode and see if there's a difference.

Just for safety do yourself a favour, check your pc for any virus. Could be eating your speed. :)

Noble_Nanobot, thanks a lot, I tried this last night and it worked ... had some trouble getting the settings right, but finally worked! So no more hassles, it was downloading at full speed the whole night!

FxpForce, it wasn't speed problem, the modem was just sort of crashing after few hours work ... :-) fixed now, apparently must be in a bridge mode

thanks anyway
