DMASA and WASPA DNC List Causing Issues with OTP?

I'm using Telkom Mobile and recently I've opted into both the DMASA and WASPA DNC list. After about a month or so I started having issues with receiving SMS OTPs for just about every service I have that uses SMS OTPs. Afrihost fibre line activation OTP as an example. Initially I thought it might be related to Truecaller SMS filtering so I switched SIMs to a different phone without Truecaller and the issue was still happening.

Have any of you experienced the above? And if so did you have to deregister from DMASA and WASPA DNC entirely or just opt-in for SMS's?
 
DNC is not properly implemented in this country..

If you want OTPs you can't be on DNC lists..

Except I cant de-register from DNC now because I don't get the verification SMS from the WASPA page even.
 
No, but if you have blocked a lot of spam numbers, you might have blocked the number the OTP is coming from.

That was my thought, that's why I switched my SIM to another phone that has no spam filters and I still didn't get any SMS's.
