DMX to my Harddrive

Hey guys.

My dad listens to classical music on DSTV's DMX ( I think thats what it's called) channel and he was wondering if it was possible to record it from the TV to my pc's harddrive so he can load the music on his mp3 player. I tried searching for a thread like this but couldn't find any and all I got on google was a site that used Windows Media Center to copy from the TV.

If you can give any advice on programs I could use or just anything I would be very grateful.

The decoder should shave an RCA plug for Audio out. Get a cord that will run from the RCA out to the Line-in of your soundcard in your PC. You might have to get an RCA/RCA cord and an RCA/Jack converter.

Go to the Volume Control ad make sure that the volume for Line-In is not mute.

Software - best I can help you here is to search google along the lines of audio recorder software

In preferences of found software, make sure that you can set the source of the recording as Line-In. Once that's done you should here whatever channel is tuned on your decoder on your PC.

Record.

Download AUDACITY from sourceforge.You not only can record the audio but edit the begin and end(fade out) and normalise to make it sounds like the real deal.

Remember to mute the other channels in recording mode(except line in) to prevent feedback noise...and switch off your cellphone while recording.

...also max your decoder's volume.

Your soundcard is an amp,you can route any sound signal through it.
