DNA backlog

So with everyone saying there's a year backlog etc ... why aren't people taking advantage and creating their own private labs? Cost of those machine and the operators too exhorbitant?

Does this backlog include waiting for paternity tests? Cause I think I might have to do one later this year.

I think it was the Chantelle Henning murder (or some murder) they mentioned 1 year backlog. I read something now in current affairs and they said the same thing.

Surely if it cost R2 million (pure guess) to setup a private practise, the victims families would be prepared to pay? A group of 10 guys can chip in R200,000.00 each and do this privately
