Hey guys, which DNS service do you'll use for Netflix?

Had a look at smartdnsproxy but their Privacy Policy seems a bit dodgy

I don't use it any longer as SA netflix is good enough (we only watch netfix shows in any case) but SmartDNSProxy works great, support was quick to sort out any issues and their VPN is great too.

If you do give it a go do me a favour and use my affiliate link please! :)

Hi,

I'm using this at the moment:

https://www.getflix.com.au/

They have good support !

I was using Getflix until a few minutes ago, just canceled it. They've been unable to solve my US Netflix issues and support has been replying in 12 hour breaks It felt like they were giving me a run around until I tire.

Hopefully Smart DNS will do a better job. I read somewhere that it might be the same company? Some of their servers look the same.

What device were you having problems with? Funny enough I was having issues with US Netflix on my Rokus last week but it was running fine on every other device I tried. Ended up that just using static routes to block the 8.8. ip addresses got it working again.

If you have problems with Getflix you're bound to have issues with SmartDNS as well. Netflix seems to go through spells of aggressive blocking.

I have a Huawei b315 router, starting to think its not that straightforward:confused:

I set up Getflix on someone else's LTE router not far back, can't recall the brand though. I ended up having to use an old ADSL router to handle the static routing etc.

I was running it on a LG WebOS smart tv. I input the Getflix DNS on both router and TV (primary only). It worked on some days and got upset on others. When I started using the static routes then it just went bersek! Even the local Netflix stopped working. Reversed to the old settings and it's working now but a lot slower. For instance, it will load a stream and pause at 25% or 99%. I wonder if Netflix have identified my device as a gross violator *eek.

So they can't make use of their LTE router?

And I was just thinking of getting an LTE router...

They couldn't add the static routes to that particular modem, I can't speak for other modems. It didn't take long to set up the other router though.

It seems to have got to work for now...albeit over a slow connection. Thanks for the input! I used 7 static routes that SmartDNS cite plus the DNS servers. Hope it doesn't bum out soon.
