Starting Saturday I suddenly seemed to have random problems resolving website addresses. It seems like many sites give an immediate page/website doesn't exist error in the browser but repeatedly refreshing the page eventually loads the website (sometimes). I get the impression Telkom's DNS is on the blink - anyone having the same problem? It's getting quite frustrating as every other website I attempt to access generates this error, and repeatedly reloading the site often eventually loads the page.

It might not be DNS though, as it feels a bit like maybe there is a badly configured transparent proxy in operation which needs a bit of time to "fetch" an uncached website???

Does anyone know if Telkom has a transparent proxy/cache running on ADSL? I'm becoming a trifle suspicious about this because some websites don't seem to change as much as they should, i.e. news websites that stay stuck on yesterday's news for too long???

Telkom do have a transparent proxy in place.

If you use IE you can try force a refresh of a page by pressing CTRL-F5.
