Hey,

I've got a diginet line from Telkom. This morning is was working fine and then suddenly stopped. From what I've worked out, I can still use ip's to get to webpages but not the normal addresses anymore.

I've reported the fault with telkom, but they seemed a little (very) clueless. Any ideas on possible solutions on my side without waiting for Telkom?

Have a Cisco router as well. I've reset everything as well, but no luck.

Thanks.

Do you get IP addresses resolved when you issue run the following command from Command Prompt:

nslookup www.google.com 196.25.255.3

If you do, set your machine's DNS to 196.25.255.3
If it does work, a better solution would be to set your router's DNS to 196.25.255.3 and all your client internal machines' DNS to your router's IP.

Thanks for the help. It's working again this morning so I'm assuming Telkom fixed something. Will this one as a backup as well.

im not totally sure what the problem is, but you might have a problem with your dns though.
