Can anyone help me with the two best DNS servers for IS? Is there any such thing? No matter which two I use at the moment there are always some sites I can't access. It's driving me nuts.

Thanks.

You can use any DNS Servers that will accept recursive queries be it SAIX, IS , Datapro , MWEB.

Anyway IS have been having ADSL issues for the last couple days , major latency and timeouts. That's where the problem is.Its not a DNS issue.

Sometimes i use the OpenDNS Server

Pri - 208.67.222.222
Sec -208.67.220.220

U can try the SAIX ones as well - http://www.saix.net/cgi-bin/saix_dns.pl

IS DNS Servers:
168.210.2.2
196.14.239.2

Maybe it's just me, but sometimes I find Saix wont accept dns queries when i'm on my IS account

Its not just you. Gerda, if you're an OpenWeb customer we have two private dedicated DNS servers. PM me with your OpenWeb ADSL username and I'll forward the details back to you.

Equinox,

Pardon me for asking a daft question, but what does the DNS settings do, and where does one put it in ? and can I use it in conjunction with route sentry ?

:)

Don't start playing with your DNS settings if everything is working. Just forget about it.....You can start playing with different ones, but your ISP automatically gives you the DNS Server Address settings.
