Hello gentlemen and ladies,
Some help or advice please?

I have a DSL connection at home and want to log into or access the desktop on my machine at home from work or anywhere else for that matter.

I have PCanywhere on all my machines but obviously I do not have static IP address so I cannot just dial in.
I know there is a way but am not sure how to do it.
Any help or explanation would be greatly appreciated.
I do not understand how Dyndns would fix or make this work if at all.

Thanks

You can either register with www.dyndns.com or www.no-ip.com, take the account put the details into your router. I know with VNC and multiple PC's you just have to do some port forwarding eg. port 5900 --> 192.168.1.10, 5901 --> 192.168.1.11 etc on the router to specify every machine on the network. When you want to logon to the PC's over the internet open VNC or PCanywhere type in the dyndns name followed by the port for that specific PC eg. marine1.dyndns.org:5901 and you will go to a specific PC.

They (dyndns, no-ip) also have have a Dynamic IP update client that you can doenload incase your router doesn't have a dynamic ip feature, although most do.
