Do Allan Gray / Liberty "platform" administration reflect underlying unit trust TER?

I am a bit scared about Sygnia to be honest ! So if any of you have something with them, please post.

I can see the fact sheets (which looks ok)

Does anyone here instead of investing RX with one company rather invest R(X/3) with three different companies?

Sjoe, Liberty is an expensive experience hey?

I have a R280 000 RA with Allan Gray (static, no monthly inflow). My costs (effective administration fee) deducted in May for the previous month total is R38.14.

Since inception on 30 Sept 2014, the total effective administration fee has cost me R618.72 overall...

What are your admin fee + TIC for the year ?

The following:

Unit Trust Name Your Percentage Allocation
Allan Gray Balanced Fund 20%
Coronation Balanced Plus Fund (Class P) 20%
Foord Balanced Funds (Class B2) 10%
Investec Opportunity Fund (Class E) 10%
Nedgroup Investments Opportunity Fund (Class B2) 10%
Prudential Balanced Fund (Class B) 10%
PSG Balanced Fund (Class E) 10%
Rezco Value Trend Fund (Class C) 10%

Works out to 1.8% per year (Admin fee + TIC)

Think your mission is to get at a certain amount to get discounts. If you have 2 or 3, it will take much longer

Just a quick follow-up post, one year later. Liberty took the liberty and helped themselves to 6% for the Section 14 transfer (after about 10 years with them).

Overall I'm happy with the move, except for the fact that Sygnia does not state the TER up front. For anyone reading this: Sygnia claims 0.4% "admin fee" but the actual TER is 0.96%. Still not cheap, but better than before!

Hi,
(such an old thread, I hope you see this?)
I also have a useless Liberty RA and plan to move.
Did you only lose 6% with a section 14 transfer?
How long did it take for the lump sum from Liberty to Sygnia?
Did you organise it yourself or via broker?
