I have a SE Vivaz Pro. I love its picture and video quality, but the facebook, and twitter programs are very slow! Whatsapp drains my battery flat in a few hours.

I was offered a Blackberry Bold 9000 for a really good price.

Should I switch over?

I dont know much about the model , but yes they do , you will get alot of people that havnet owned one telling you otherwise, you need the BIS service though or it will just be useless

Yeah of course (about the BIS) - I'm on a TopUp 315 @ the moment. Will that be able to pay for the biz?

I tried the phone for a few minutes. It seems really fast in comparison to mine.

I think I'm going to get it :)

Can't recommend any apps. I only use my BB for email, BBM and browsing.

Oh and the odd phone call :D

Sweet, I tried youtube on my brothers blackberry, seemed really awesome. My Vivaz with its 10.2mbps doesn't even play videos from youtube!!!!!!!!!!

Careful, there's some rule that comes with BIS about not being allowed to stream and not being able to download >3MB. So it's possible that your brother may be charged for the data.

Okay sweet. I'm sold!

What are cool APPS for the blackberry - I'll get it tomorrow :)

I swear by these Apps and Games :)

2 caveats:

1. The 9000 is, by mobile standards, ancient. It was released in 2008 if I recall.
2. BIS does not cover streaming. You might've watched a Youtube video on it, but it's gonna cost your brother extra.

Also, in relation to what you're used to, the 9000's camera sucks - 2MP vs 5MP. You'll also be losing the FM radio.

Personally I wouldn't. There are some decent Blackberrys slated for launch later in the year. Rather wait a bit and get something that's not stuck in the stone age.

Thanks for your replies. I almost bought it, I tried paying for the BIS service but it won't deduct off top up airtime. I'll be paying R372 pm! For the same price I will be able to get a blackberry 9780 on 315 airtime!

:(
I guess it was just not meant to be.
