Hi all,

www.payfine.co.za is for fines in JHB, right?

So how do I find out if I have a fine outside JHB, reason for asking is simply.

1. While travelling to DBN this weekend, a 120km camera flashed (just before halfway from JHB to DBN, I was overtaking at 125-131km:().

2. While going back to JHB, a 60km camera flashed (just by tugela toll, my girlfriend was slowing down from 80, so lets say her speed was 80km:()

My mailing system isn't the best, so how can I find out if I got a fine?
What would each of these fines cost me?
According to AARTO, if you pay before 32 days you get a 50% discount-is this true? (http://www.aarto.co.za/public/pay-fine.html, I know AARTO is still in pilot mode)

Pay within 32 days and get a 50% discount!

If after 32 days, the total penalty amount for the main charges must be paid.

Infringers can at any point comply with the infringement notice by paying the penalty.

wait for the fine, if it ever gets delivered...

...and you have 32days to pay it from date of it being processed, not from offence - if i remember correctly

on this note of fines, jmpd has started mailing the fines to you via registered post. so if you ever receive a notification to pick up an unexpected and unspecified (the notification has no details on it, like where its from etc) package...DON'T :D

Yup, sit tight and wait for the bumbling traffic department to match your number plate to an address, if they do, make bloody sure that the photo is of your car, and the time you were there, if ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE that it is you, follow the instructions as to where you must pay.

Camera fines usually end up in file 13...don't pay a cent until you are sure that it is you and you know that the money is going to the correct place and not the Piet van Tonder Retirement fund PO Harrismith.

The website should reflect the fine as soon as it is published. If the car is registered to you, it'll reflect on the website. You also have the opportunity to see the photo if they upload it.
