Ok, maybe I'm assuming the worst here but I can't help but think I'm right. I'm isi.g a tablet with 16GB (10 available) running 4.2.2 stock android (not rooted). Yesterday I started having problems with downloading stuff onto my interna SD storage with no particular indication in the error message as to why downloads are failing. I can't even delete folders or take screenshots in that storage but I can easily uninstall apps. Can you guys please help me at least diagnose the problem or even better, help me solve it? I'd be most greatful.

I doubt it. Very few viruses get past Android 4+, it is more likely a problem with the SD. Some devices are problematic when the SD device is not formatted in a specific way, the fact that the device works perfectly in another device proves nothing. try to reformat if it is removable else un mount and re mount the device depending on what version of Android.

Is formating the same as the "erase all data" option in storage settings? And no it's not removable... it's labelled "SD card"

Apart from reverting to previous versions of the app and updating one by one to see if anyone of them is causing the problem, I don't know what to do. Try what Piet said.

Interesting point, how does one revert back to previous versions of an app?

On a rooted device it is easy, but since OP's device is not, he can look if there is an option under apps in settings to revert. Failing which, he can contact the developers of the apps and ask them for a previous version or plainly just search the Internet.

Something else OP can also try is to just wipe cache and dalvik cache.

If any of the above does not work, then factory reset and start again

Ok, I think I'll just do a factory reset. But I'm using a cheap rebranded Proline tablet running stock 4.2.2. I don't know how to even get to stock recovery on this thing (that's if it even has one). I'm not rooted since I can't find a root method, so CWM is out of the question. So how do I do this? besides wiping all of my data and resetting, how else will factory reset affect me?
