Do I have to take the Sim card?

So I was planning to upgrade to the Nokia 5 via Vodacom but 2 weeks has gone by and they still don't have stock.

So I want to buy it cash from Hi-Online. They have Vodacom and MTN stock of the phone but the branch I'm going to only has stock from MTN.

I'm pretty sure they will give a free sim card and force me to Rica, so can I reject the sim card?

AFAIK it comes with free data so not sure why you don't take it?
