Do I need a TV with Openview HD?

I'm assuming the answer is Yes, because the ovhd blurb only mention connecting the decoder to a TV, under the assumption that everyone has one. But it would be cheaper to buy a monitor rather than a TV. I used to watch DSTV on a monitor. Can I do likewise with Openview?

If the decoder and the monitor have similar input/output ports then yes...

What about sound?

If the monitor has hdmi in, yes.
You'll need something for sound as mentioned.

thanks for the replies. i bought a hd monitor with builtin speakers (as per recommendations), connected via hdmi cable, and it worked perfectly first time.
