Do I really need crazy expensive motherboard and CPU?

The people who assessed my PC told me I need an Intel Desktop Motherboard (BLKDH67BLB3) for my Intel - Desktop Board DH67BL

Is this correct? Or could I buy a different motherboard that is not as ridiculously expensive? They also said I need an Intel Core i3-380M 2.53GHz CPU

Could I buy something else instead? If so, what?

I know nutting about PCs. Please help a sista out.

Sista, your MB can take i7, they give you i3. You have a fast capable MB with a slow processor, Ferrari with a beetle engine, get a 2nd opinion.

What do or did you have?

The Intel Core i3-380M CPU is from 2010, it's a 11 years old CPU. The Intel - Desktop Board DH67BL motherboard is also a 2011 product.

What is your budget?
