Im looking to get back on the fibre bandwagon as Rain's wireless service and related support is tanking big time.

I was a previous CISP customer and had raised an issue here which I had regarding poor service and related billing for it. I subsequently got a message that someone would look into this, but have not heard anything since.

Is it worthwhile to consider sticking with CISP or should I just give up and move to another ISP?
 
Depends on your overall satisfaction with them. I had a billing issue back in 2017 with Afrihost which was sorted super quick and I stuck with them. Now we have Afrinatic who's absolutely amazing on the support side, and would make me recommend Afrihost above everyone else. I did consider CISP but Afrihost had better prices and Afrinatic took charge of my whole fibre order from pre-order till going live.
 
Thank you. I've had major issues with Afrihost years ago (Was with them for many years) and I'm not interested in wasting more time or money with them unless they can prove otherwise.
There's a reason I posted my request specifically on the CISP forum, but perhaps I should cut my losses and move on.

Mind the speed or Afrihost
 
Seems like times have indeed changed. Not many takers for CISP anymore. Thanks all.
 
The real reality is with every ISP there is a chance you going to have a bad experience, the person could be new, could be having a bad day or they just someone who doesn't give a sh## about their job and management has not noticed.

I personally had a horrible experience with Afrihost years ago and i wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole but my opinion has changed over the past few years.

I have been with Cool Ideas for like 4 years now and been fortunate enough to never have had a bad experience. I have had friends who had bad experiences but they raised them with PBCool and things got sorted out.

Something to also take into account is sometimes he can get busy as he does have a normal job but then there is like CoolChick/Rodent and Spacecowboy (if they still around too), who help out * sometimes you just need to follow up as well as these people do get busy and aren't just sitting here waiting to resolve issues.
 
Strange how people's experiences differ. I've had some horror experiences with ISPs. But only good ones with Afrihost.
 
I'm with WebAfrica.

If the product works, it works great.

If poef hits the fan, it goes wrong horribly.
Log a ticket, ticket gets closed with - "We will get someone to look into it"

Used an API (My hands) and logged over 100 tickets that day

Honestly. My 2c.

Any ISP that has good reps on this forum gets my vote. I have clients on Afrihost and CISP, both ISP's have handled everything flawlessly.

Afrinatic from Afrihost and PBCool from CISP deserve a round of applause for all the work they do
