Just saw the first intel mobo with usb 3 i think, i would suggest you do not buy intel or amd until you find a mobo with usb 3 :D.

Phew lucky for me i was gonna get a new mobo this week for my new amd but i shall wait.

Or if you're planning on buying an Asus mobo you can get an add-on card that fits into a PCI-E slot with two USB3s and 2 SATA6s.

That's what I'll be getting when USB3 finally decides to show up.

PS: Killa, check out the gaming section...... Battlefield Bad Company 2 Beta key...... GO GO GO!!!

What was it running on the usb 3 port that made you decide to hold off?

Nothing but if i am gonna buy a mobo i want it stock with usb 3 :D

Else i would need to go buy a card which will be extra.

:D I see the USB3 stuff is slowly coming through.
I've got a year or so before I even think of getting peripherals for that interface.

SATA3... still a while before I buy an SSD to make use of it.

There's a SSD external on USB3 now as well. Pricey.

Hmmm... I wonder if I should do an upgrade to the 6-core AMD when it comes out as well as a new mobo again later this year? That'll be a first for me. Machines last 5-6 years in my house. Two upgrades in a year is unheard of, if not completely unnecessary. :)

6 cores i dunno hey, do you use 4 cores?

Lucky for me i bought this 500 buck special mobo hahaha so i need to upgrade :D.

I don't use 6gb/s sata but i know in the future i will usb 3 :D.

Sata 6gb/s is a bit silly considering sata 2 does not even get maxed but 10x faster usb would be awesome :D.

For all things usb :D.

I dunno man, when i look at a mobo i'm more worried about:
- Total nr of Sata's
- Total Ram slots and max capacity per slot
- CPU Compatability
- The sticker on the box hehe j/k

in my world usb's are used for Digital camera's, 3G Modems, Webcam, Flash drives, mouse and keyboard

imo, the usb is fast enough....

Maybe so but i would rather get usb 3 on my next upgrade than buy a mobo without it.

So i am not saying it the most important thing i am just saying look for it if you are upgrading :D.

I suppose it could be useful to people who copy a lot of files through usb with camera's or external hard drives....

:D Hope you change all your peripherals to USB3 or there'll be no point. Well at least this is starting to show up. Alot of people were asking about holding off for USB3 about 3 months ago. Can't wait to see what USB3 items are coming out along with performance figures. Going to be a boon to external storage for sure.

And yes, I can use 4 cores.
