Hello everyone,

Forgive me if this question has been asked and answered already.

I've been looking at the current smartphones on offer with my provider. I understand new phones will be coming to South Africa soon, in some cases, they are the successors to the models currently on sale. Does this mean that the prices of the current models will drop in the next few months?

Probably depends on the model but from what I have seen they do get cheaper.

E.g. S7 Edge was R15000 at release. You can now get one at R8000 - 12000.

The S8 was R629 pm for the Telkom Freeme 100 last year. I see they are now R579 pm.

Thanks. I've been looking at the Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra with Telkom. I'm hoping it's price will drop since there's the XA2 and XA2 ultra being released soon.
