Honorary Master
Hi masters of the internet,
been sent a interesting challenge from a workplace I applied to:
(need to be a savant to understand this!)
goes something like this:
Connection Details
Connect via RDP: nat.xxx.yyy.com Port: 3026
User: localadmin
Password: xxxyyyzzz
To get HTTP access to your instance on port 80 should it be required as part of your challenge, use: http://nat.xxx.yyy.com:8026
Once you log in to your challenge instance, the 30 minute timer will be started. You need to complete the challenge within this time. Reload this page to see how much time you have left.
not really following what Im supposed to do here:
connect via RDP obviously means use remote desktop, that part I understood, use a non-standard port,(3026) doable as you need to change a registry entry to do it from port 3389.
but the next part, Im confused about, what next am I supposed to do here?
is that hostname on the public internet? dosent look like it? pinging fails, and connecting with the other port also fails,
it does though pick up an IP address, so it must have a DNS entry someplace tried using that still no dice,
done a tracert, goes someplace, but dosnt tell me very much,
not a lot of info to go on, but thats what Ive been given
make sense to anybody here?
PM me, and Il give you the full hostname, if you can help me out....
