Hi masters of the internet,

been sent a interesting challenge from a workplace I applied to:
(need to be a savant to understand this!)

goes something like this:

Connection Details
Connect via RDP: nat.xxx.yyy.com Port: 3026
User: localadmin
Password: xxxyyyzzz

To get HTTP access to your instance on port 80 should it be required as part of your challenge, use: http://nat.xxx.yyy.com:8026

Once you log in to your challenge instance, the 30 minute timer will be started. You need to complete the challenge within this time. Reload this page to see how much time you have left.

not really following what Im supposed to do here:

connect via RDP obviously means use remote desktop, that part I understood, use a non-standard port,(3026) doable as you need to change a registry entry to do it from port 3389.

but the next part, Im confused about, what next am I supposed to do here?

is that hostname on the public internet? dosent look like it? pinging fails, and connecting with the other port also fails,
it does though pick up an IP address, so it must have a DNS entry someplace tried using that still no dice,

done a tracert, goes someplace, but dosnt tell me very much,

not a lot of info to go on, but thats what Ive been given

make sense to anybody here?

PM me, and Il give you the full hostname, if you can help me out....

RDP to nat.xxx.yyy.com:3026 - just type the hostname and port into your RDP connection Window.

Once logged in (with the details they gave you) browse to http://nat.xxx.yyy.com:8026

Do your thing within 30 minutes
seems the HTTP hostname they gave you will be on a Intranet

No dice,

Tried with mstsc-v tried with vncviewer
Dosent go anywhere,

I did then understand the question correctly?

Maybe i need to use a Vpn of some sort? Or i must be connected in locally for this to work.

None of those been provided, i was given a link via email, registered myself, and got this challenge on a web page,

Challenge itself didn't seem that hard, fix a iis server fqdn issue,

But i can't even get to the d@mm server in the firstplace!

Did you get the connection to the server with RDP? no registry changes needed, you are the client

Nope, didn't go anywhere
Can't connect the host, can't connect via ip
Does though give a IP address 55.27.66.192
Tried that, no luck,

Tried vnc and mstsc no dice,

I must be missing something here, but it can't be? I copied and pasted directly from their web site. Ill be honest here, its for Amazon web services cloud support in cpt

Something they not telling me, I'm sure of it,
Need to by psycic to get it, or a IQ of 300:D

Maybe i must use a Vpn? Or login someplace else? Really not sure what to do here?

is that the acctual ip?

is that the acctual ip?

Yip, and yip very strange question,
But they did supply me a specific port, but that also didn't go anywhere

Strange kind of test, spent almost this whole weekend trying to figure this out....

I'm clearly missing something here, anybody here on mybb who works there, who can at least get me past the first hurdle?

I mean I'm not a savant, and not psychic
Got to give me a better clue then that!

Apache/2.2.15 (Red Hat) Server responding on port 8009 when using the correct ip... with a 404 nonetheless.

I Think:
1) Open MSTSC
1.PNG
2) Click on "Show Options", then "Advanced", then "Settings"
2.PNG
3) Use RD Gateway
3.PNG
4) Connect using supplied host and port
4.PNG
5) Enter Credentials
5.PNG
6) When you have an open session, open the address in a browser on the remote machine "http://nat.techchallenge.amazon.com:8026"

Let us know...

All of you helping him cheat on a job application. For shame.

Says enter a valid gateway address,

Also interesting note, when i try check again says all challenge slots taken,

Maybe somebody trying to ddos the sh@t out of that server now.....

:P

I get to "requires a password" using KRDC (so I get access just by typing in the address:port).
