Do they replace them?

My previous company, we were a team of 8 and people started leaving without been replaced. When I left in 2019 there were 2 left. Workload is crazy. Seems management don't care about the wellbeing of their staff.
When I was working at IS, there was a team of about 8 of us as well, they started to leave one year, it was down to myself and another guy, I left. The other guy melted down.

Nope.

We just get stretched further and further. My site is now at the point where one person takes leave and I am unable to cover all areas with support staff.

Further up the chain, our branch had 5 area managers. There are now 2.

Retrenchment is a different animal altogether.

The chap in question had the option to come to work on time or leave.

His words were "I suppose I have to stay" (dumbass) so he was asked to leave and kindly (on the part of the company) given a retrenchment package.

.... but OK I should have said.

Seems to be the trend now. I hate it when you are 'instructed' to do a personal development plan and when you exceed all targets, you still get a increase of 1-3 %.

I was getting a 3% increase in 2014. I remember 2009 I didn't get an increase at all, because apparently when they folded my previous standby into my salary it was counted as an increase.

the not replacing ways of work is now at the end. we are now replacing people who leave. as thin on the ground as we can be....
