Do they still sim lock phones?

I'm planning on getting the SGS 2 on a Cell C contract and using the phone with a vodacom sim. Will this work?

No network operator is allowed to lock a phone to their network. It has been illegal now for many many years. It is still however a widelly practiced policy overseas..specially in the UK and USA.

might be locked with cell c,apparently cell c was exempted,'i might be wrong though

Shouldn't be network locked. The only phone I believe is network locked is the 8ta R99 phone. Cute little phone tho!
