Do Vodacom "network lock" devices

Ahh, it seems after quick google, Cell-C don't have 900mhz (all the old phones had) and piggy-back off the other networks.
Hope they have some deal with them - I don't want to pay roaming chargers within my own country.....

There are no additional roaming charges amongst local operators. All new operators especially VMNOs(virtual mobile network operators) such as Virgin mobile and Me&You mobile, etc, roam on established network operators as they don't have sufficient towers of their own. The only network operators that do not roam locally AFAIK are Vodacom, MTN and Telkom Mobile.

TM roams on MTN.

I was laughing at a colleague this week that told me Vodacom informed him that his warranty would be voided if he used a sim card from another provider in his phone. Really? WTF

I stand corrected but there's no difference in call costs, etc., true?

Until last month all networks data cost more than TM data but since they've done away with/combined the two it's actually cheaper for me now to buy data. :)

Thought so.

Cancelled my data contract with company A and took out a TM data contract at the beginning of the month. R99 for 2.5GB + 7.5GB nightsurfer + free wifi. All networks.
