Do we get UK or US games?

Prob UK as the US uses NTSC and we - like the UK - use PAL

It shouldn't matter if it is a PC game....but you are correct that we receive our games from Europe.
You're right - I tend to think console when I think of games. :o

xbox 360: we get the PAL games, although this seems aspect seems to matter less and less - there is region-encoding on certain games that do enable lock-out if you try and play them on a console/profile with different settings.

ask the guy who bought a 360 in the states before they became available here and then has to research the encoding on a game before he buys it locally. here's hoping GTA4 doesn't have the same encoding as Burnout Paradise...

I meant PC games... Why I was asking is I bought the Witcher, and the two versions are different. I wanted to know which one I had.

If your talking pc games, we get our games from the UK.

If you look at the age ratings system on our games it's usually pegi which is the european one not the esrb which is US.

Also the witcher version in SA was uncut just like the UK version while the US got a censored one. We get UK games.

It can sometimes be a pain. You usually cant buy software from places like Amazon.com (USA) if you want it sent to SA. I end up having to get it sent to friends first, who then have to forward it on. Unless you actually want the EU version

I think the reason we get european editions, is because of the dvd region?

I dunno, but it could be that or the import prices. America is further away = more expensive.

Someone in the know should post...

I've had friends send me Gaming DVD's from the USA, and often ask my Wife to get me something when ever she goes over. So far I haven't noticed any difference.

I had heard before that it was due to some laws regarding software crossing American boundries, and publishing rights of the companies, But I cant seem to find any reference to it anymore?
