How do we get problems with lines sorted out nowadays? A month of no service, and all I hear are weak excuses. Which still leaves me with no ADSL. Yes, I have contacted TelkomZA.

Did I miss the note that said we should look for a Telkom techie in the neighbourhood and offer him some bucks to fix the line, seeing as this is the only explanation I can fathom? Is this how it works now?

Unfortunately this always the better/faster solution.

When they intially installed my ADSL & phone line, I saved the techies number on my phone. I saw he phoned me from an 079 number and thought it might be his personal / work mobile number. Checked on whatsapp and it was his personal number.

My ADSL didn't work the next week (I couldn't test it the day they installed it due to not having a router yet). I whatsapped him, offered him something to come have a look in his spare time and it was sorted within 24 hours...

Our telephone line was acting up on Tuesday, so I sent an sms to 30591 with the word SERVICE , followed by my telephone number and followed the prompts afterwards.

Yesterday was obviously a public holiday, so I wasn't at work. Come this morning 11am the tech pitched and fixed the problem.

The ADSL Gods pissed all over you bud.

Lol... after escalations and attempts even from TelkomZa side, I was promised a tech would come to fix today. Even phoned the call centre this morning to confirm the appointment, they assured he would attend today. 15:30 rolls by, I call again, suddenly there is no record of tech being scheduled for me today... I'm so fed up with this, I cant even.

So where are you?

Do you have a fixed line voice services, and if so, is that working?
What does your router show when you look at the diagnostics?

I can physically see the line disconnected from the box, dangling wires and all. Line be dead. As in not alive. Deaaaaaaaad. Zero. Nadaaaaa. :P The Huawei FTTH installation completed on my pole, and 5 minutes later my line went down, broken like this. Thanks Huawei.

I think thats why the techs dont want to attend to this call, it involves climbing a ladder and rewiring at the distr box?

What gets me is the fact that a tech was scheduled and then just suddenly.... not anymore? Do they have a way to delete their own schedules from the system or something? I dont get it.
