Do we need a good right affiliated party in SA?

Lets look at the political situation for a moment, currently the two biggest influences are the DA and the ANC - both of them have alligned to the left, the ANC a bit further than the DA. Basically what the DA is doing at the moment is that it is saying, we will do what the ANC is promising to do - we will just be better than them and they have proven this with the WC success. However there isn't much of a balance in your country when it comes to politics, its all very liberal or very communistic.

Don't we need a republican, capitalistic, big business, multiracial yet ethnic aware party? The FF for example isn't ideal they pretty much aligned their policies onto race, however there is a server lack of a good yet strong anti welfare state if you will party in SA. The republican democrat view in the US is a perfect example for a healthy democracy.
 
The ANC is constantly talking about censorship. Most recently censorship of internet porn and more importantly, censorship of the media. That is definitely NOT the characteristic of a left-aligned party. The ANC is certainly right-wing.
Which left-wing characteristics do they have?
 
I don't think a right aligned party would get very far, and it would be very easy for the ANC/pro-poor parties to trash them.

At the moment all we need is a decent non-ANC aligned party that can appeal to the masses and take some ANC support. Whether they're right or left wing hardly matters, but again a right party wouldn't go down well with the poor.

Is censorship a right wing ideal? I thought it was just crazyness/authoritarian, whether right or left.

The ANC are very left wing, they're basically a workers/poor party who are aligned with COSATU and the SACP. You don't get any more left than the SACP..
 
They may say they are aligned with the poor, but their actions speak otherwise. Large-scale corruption and tendrepeneurship indicates that ANC officials are too busy making shady money to care for the poor.

Ye for sure, their characteristics probably make them a very confused party that calls itself left wing but for the purposes of political alignment they're definitely very left.
 
I also think it is not the right time for a strong right party at this stage in our history. The DA is a good enough opposition for now.... and I will continue to support them even though I don't agree with everything on their platform. I think we must lend them our support right now in order to weaken the ANC. When we have done that... then we can start thinking about moving more towards the center or even the right.
 
The way to defeat an enemy is to divide it's forces. With all the bickering and squabbling going on in the political ranks, and everyone who can/wants starts a party, we will never see a majority vote or give any other party enough power to do what is right.

So go ahead. Everyone wants to start a party. Go for it. Have 30 million parties. And have 30 million people vote for each one. I'm sure it's going to be awesome
 
Given the fact that the Naspers papers like to talk about 'REGSE ELEMENTE' as if it is a terrible crime against humanity to be right, this party will not gain much support. I for one will never vote for a leftist and/or liberal party because I rather eat my own foot than do that. I am for the Vryheidsfront + for the lack of a better alternative....
 
If it's anything to go by, I think we should take a few pages out of the USA's book. Not brilliant or perfect I agree. But it comes down to a handful of people (most of the time just 2! since that's how many "parties" they have there) who gets to be president. But what does a first world country know about democracy right?

I agree, however the more diverse the system and the more healthy the democracy, if the DA for one reason or another gets 66% of the votes I have no doubt in my mind that they will practice the exact same corruption tactics that the ANC is doing, that the Nats did etc..

Unity is quite a big fallacy, unity at whos costs, unity at whos will?
