I know standard practice is to answer your phone when it's ringing, but do you still entertain it when you see "Blocked Call" displayed on the screen??

nope. It is absolute bullsh*t. I was on the verge of having a heart attack due to those tele marketers. Enough was enough.

I have actually blocked unknown numbers on MyTools. That is one thing that Cell C has that is absolutely brilliant. When a unknown number phones me now it plays a message:

"The number you have called does not accept calls from unknown numbers. un-hide your number and try again" or something like that.

Unfortunately my boss's PABX also shows up as a Blocked Call, hence I have to take all of them! I'm working on a plan with the techies to somehow "unblock" his caller ID.

It's so annoying. I don't answer blocked numbers.

To qualify my reply... that's on my work cellphone. On my private/personal cellphone I do not answer any calls unless I know the number.

Yep... I've taken the time to keep my contacts updated and I add new ones when I know I'll be dealing with that person in future. Blocked numbers and numbers that aren't in my phone book... Sorry for you, leave a message at the tone.

I don't have voicemail activated on my phone. If it's work related, they're welcome to contact me at the office.

Isn't there an app already to display hidden numbers calling?

Defeats the point of a private number then!

I don't mind answering blocked numbers...I think its only people that are afraid of debt collectors or are hiding from someone that don't like to answer.
In fact my cell has CLIR as default, so when I call people they wont have a record of MY cell number (professional reasons)....so if no-one answered my calls I'd be pretty pi$$ed off!

If its a telemarketer just say no & put down.

Same as MickeyD...certain important calls go through a corporate pabx so no choice. :(

You will find that an ISDN PABX will call as private number. IE: Cape Town City Council will always be a private number.

@ Tron - it does - but all I am saying is with the amount of apps available today I am surprised there isn't an app to display the hidden number already.
