Do you buy clothes online?

So i've just made my very first purchase online for clothes from the US do to the fact I can't ever find anything I want here, I looked on zando but thery really seem to stock all the plain and average stuff.

Anyway for interest sake if anyone is interst, I ordered 8 t shirts, with the shipping inluded it came to R2300, which works out close to R300 a shirt, which I find is your going rate for name brand shirt now a days, so I dont feel it is to costly, it just sucks you get nailed by the shipping costs, so obviously the more you buy the cheaper a shirt works out making it cheaper to buy clothing overseas than here in SA, think next time Ill find someone to order with me so we can split shipping costs.

Just wish we had decent online clothing sites.
 
I didn't pay customs last time I imported,usually it is included in the shipping?
 
In my personal experience, Zando have failed on my last two orders. First time they kept sending the wrong colour - they send the wrong thing THREE times. Then on second delivery = items were defective, and it was a nightmare to get through to service people to actually help and understand my problem. I gave them a second chance, they failed.

Now I stick to 36boutiques.com - they have a really cool range, loads of designer stuff, unique :) And their service is excellent!

So what happens in a scenario where a medium is too medium and a large is too large? Do they take it back and give you a new size of what?? :wtf:
 
its pretty much a risk you take I guess, we selll clothing at our shop, so if it doesnt fit ill just hang it up there
 
Sooooooo to hell with buy South African!........ and keep your neighbour working.......
 
Clothes-wise I've yet to buy anything bigger than eg. a sock from overseas. Scared of customs. :o

This. Although you forgot to mention something about their nice pricing and free delivery etc.

And no I am not a girl ... I have one though. :D

You can return and exchange it for free, within 7 days. They send a courier to come pick it up, and once they have it back on their side and have checked all is ok, they send the replacement :)

Assuming you talking about the SA shops and not the international ones...

You are only going to pay customs if you need to collect the items from the post office. Purchased a single tshirt from the US last year, they posted it and i had to collect it from the post office, had to pay customs. A while after that me and a buddy orederd around 10 tshirts from Thinkgeek.com, they sent it via courier and delivered it directly to his home, we didn't pay customs.

So in my experience, if it gets sent via couriers, you don't need to worry about customs.
 
Im pretty sure you will be paying the 40% most couriers will request it too when it arrives in SA. They made it purposefully high to try and preserve the textile industry here and stop everything coming in from China, India etc.
The import duty is also added to shoes - got smacked when I imported some cycling shoes a while back.
 
When I lived in the states I would order from LL Bean (the best jerseys) but since coming here I don't order clothes online anymore. Baby Gap UK is tempting me though with their new Peter Rabbit collection.
 
I ordered a pair of jeans through amazon once. Amazingly enough, they fitted prefectly! That was back in the days when I used to gym every 2nd day :D

Anyway, they were delivered to me via post office and I do not think I paid any kind of import tax on them.

In my experience I have never paid custom taxes when buying from amazon. I bought a few clothing items from Amazon and a few from churchofmerch, who stock Skrillex/Feed Me/Kill The Noise t shirts and I paid taxes on all 3 of those t shirts. for $23 shirt I payed R130+- at the counter
