Do you eat polony?

Why on Earth would someone eat polony if they can afford ham/salami or other decent cold meats? That stuff is disgusting!

Do you eat pony?

Every time I see this thread, I read it as 'Do you eat pony?'.

The ham that we have become accustomed to from supermarkets is produced using far more chemicals than polony is.

Polony tastes okay but the texture is awful these days. They have slowly been increasing the bone-meal ratio in the mixture and you simply can't get through a slice without biting into small pieces of bone...

Polony and Oxo on sarmies.

Awesome :)

Also, polony and cheese with mayo
or polony and apricot jam

The pieces of bone are there for your health, it's extra roughage

Ooh, polony for breakfast just reminded me of fried polony. That's something I like...

Hmmm ... fried in a pan, on some toast with marmite and cheese. Awesomesauce.

Saturday morning breakfast during the Super 15 rugby.

There is a reason ;)

Think about it you can find almost anything under the sun, why should this be different.

It is mechanically deboned meat - sometimes a mixture of pork, beef and poultry. It is then mixed with brine, a gum of sorts (xantham, guar and the like), bone meal, sodium nitrite, flavourants, salt, sugar, colourants, emulsifiers and then extruded again. It is then placed in a shaping mould and placed under immense pressure and the heat is monitored to help with the binding of certain chemicals. It is then packaged and shipped...

Oh and to the OP: vienna sausages are made in an identical fashion, albeit with different flavourings...

If you can find machines designed to mince 2000 baby chicks an hour on youtube why not a polony plant?
