One of my best friends has now decided the same, he had enough and incredibly happy now.
I realized that there are number of people out there looking for a boyfriend/girlfriend but not a relationship as if the two are mutually exclusive. They are looking for a friend with benefits but not willing to admit it. They dont want the drama or the complications. They want a buddy to go out clubbing with and have fun with and smile and laugh and watch movies together but no complications.
 
Screw relationships. Being one who would only do it in a relationship, or at least when there are strong feelings involved, I have learned that wam bam ma'am I thank thee is by far more gratifying than having to deal with a woman's s+!t.

In my near 30 years of existence I don't actually recall ever being directly propositioned, not once. Guess I'm either an ugly, stupid or unobservant SOB. :) Or just don't have enough money?

So hookups is really a bit of a moot point here, not as though I'd have a choice even if I wanted to :p But being in a relationship now I'd prefer to keep it that way.

i made a few poor decisions when i was younger and hooked up with a few women, as well as three long-term relationships (one with no sex).

i am married now (for a few years) and get plenty. and married sex is WAY better than unmarried sex, in my opinion. we know each other so well, and sex for us is about giving, not getting. giving sex > getting sex.

my wife was a virgin when we got married, and her enjoyment of sex is... it's hard to put it into words. it's just so ?untainted? she has no hangups, no negative memories, no issues, no jealousies - everything is bright

But I'm like that when I hook up as well. More of a giver than a receiver. My one friend said that he screwed this girl because he had no time to go down on her. When I mentioned that it was stupid, he looked at me all cock-eyed and funny and said 'dude, I had sex. What's the problem?'

Sigh. I had to explain to him that had you gone down on her, she might me back for more, you are less likely to **** that up that you are to give her bad sex.

Regarding OP. Don't do hookups, but I'm not looking for a girlfriend either. If I can get a FWB type deal I'll be happy with that.

Yeah, I am currently n the FWB situation. Awesomeness, although you will need to keep it in the back of your head to not get attached, and that at some point it will end.
