One of the guys at work here knows of someone that did win the lotto many years ago
About 15 years ago
They were friends
When the guy won the jackpot he quit work
Went mad spending the bux and divorced his wife
Spent his money on young chicks
A few years later all gone
The young girlfriend left him
The guy is in his 60s now
No work
No money
Lives in Kraaifontein or Kuilsriver somewhere on the streets.
The guy at work here saw it all happening in front of him

This is the only person I have met that has actually known someone to win the lottery
Lots of people think it is just a scam
And that there aren't real winners at all
Like flat earthers

Chance of winning is the same every week, regardless of jackpot size. But yes, chances of winning and having to share the jackpot goes up a bit when the jackpot is big and many play.

Still, for a R25M jackpot, R12.5M would be better than winning a R5M jackpot by yourself.

Imagine getting lucky enough to hit the lotto and you only get R5M. You’ll be able to retire to a mud hut in the Free State. :cautious:

I always play the same numbers.
Over and over
And here is the reason

If I told you to pick a number from 1 to 10
And I said 3
And I was wrong
But I keep playing the same number every week
Eventually, I am going to pick the right number.

However, if i keep changing my result I am back to square 1

It also means that their expected losses are less.

I throw the odd R7.50 at it whenever Capitec of FNB send me a notification of a large prize. Other than that meh, don't really give it any mindshare
